Making wet guns dry?

Spent the day bowhunting in the rain.. Doesn't bother me all that much, but a few times I thought about how that weather would affect a firearm. I love synthetic stocks, but I do have a wood one, or two..
What is standard for bringing a wet gun home besides a tear down and clean?Any special precautions about treating the gun in preparation for a wet day? Are there guns that shouldn't be in the rain at all?

My shotguns are synthetic, but Iam concernedabout the wood on other rifles.

Thanks

RE: Making wet guns dry?

All my wood stocked guns have nearly water proof finishes and the barrel channels have been glassed. Sometimes if they are really wet i will take the barrel and action out of the stock and wipe everything down good.i coat all the metal parts that are hidden by the wood withheavy grease, not oil.
