Most accurate rifle out of the box?

I hunt a lot of clearcuts for whitetail and need a rifle that is accurate out to 200 yds. I haven't keep up with the latest improvements as my current rifle (BDL 30.06) was purchased over 20 years ago. Your suggestions are appreciated. :)

I dont know how your BDL shots but ones I have shot are tuff to bet. the most accurate rifle I have ever bought was a RUGER 77MKII varment in 25-06 I bought it at local shop bought a tasco 8X32X40 target scope and bx of remington corlokts stoped at range on way home 1st group was 5 shots into a group a nickel would cover love that rifle. But for deer its a little heavy to carry around the woods. Id look at all the new rifles out there and pick one that fits you best and you like looks of best. I have bought a new remington 700LSS and a winchester model 70 featherweight in the last yr both shot well and look great. But both needed trigger jobs from the start due to the new lawyer proof heavy pull triggers from the factory.

I've shot some accurate rifles by about every company out there, but if I were looking for the most accurate rifles out of the box, I'd go with a Sako or Tikka.

I've had very good accuracy from Remington's Sako's,Winchester's, Browning's and Ruger's.Since every gun shoots differently with different ammunition it's really not possible to say which is the most accurate out of the box rifle.Best bet is find a rifle that fits you well and is comfortable.Try different brands and types of ammunition until you find one that your rifle likes. If you handload that's even better. You can work up a accurate load to fit your needs. With todays modern barrels accuracy is usual real good. The gun can only be as accurate as the shooter is or allows it to be.

At 200 yards almost any factory rifle is accurate enough. When the distances get in the 400 yard range accuracy is much more important.I have been very impressed with factory sendero's that I have shot although I don't own any factory rifles myself.

I have to second what otis posted. If you don't already have a great scope get you one. Either a Zeiss (first choice) or a Leupold. The good scope makes the rifle. It's hard to beat the 700 BDL, got one my self. It was passed to me from my stepdad.

It's not that my BDL isn't accurate(1" groups at 100yds and I don't shoot alot) I've had it glass bedded and floated. I just got the hankering for another rifle.

Back40 I am or was infected with that same disease . I keep getting a relapse. The best medicine is go and buy that new rifle. It's only a temporary cure and sure to come back. It feels so good until the relapse reappears.

I know what you're saying Back40. I got that bug awhile back and soothed the itch with a new Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker chambered in .300 wsm. Could help it just needed a new rifle. I topped it with a Zeiss Conquest. Can't wait to shoot it. Got the day off tomorrow and I'm going to hit the range with it. Can't wait!
