RE: which scope is best??
I'm wondering if you left out leupold out on purpose?
|
RE: which scope is best??
i forgot, about leupold sorry about that, i edited it and i added leupold

RE: which scope is best??
For the money I'm able and willing to spend on a scope, my Nikon Monarch is all I need. It is definately clearer and brighter than my Leupold Vari-X-II. If money were no object then I would pick the Swarovski. You should probably post specific models for each scope company as it'snot fair to compare a low end Bushnell to a Swarovski.

RE: which scope is best??
I thought Leupold was the only scope made....
Here's the 3X9 VXIplus elle turret...on my '06. I can like a turreted M8 6X as well. ![]() |
RE: which scope is best??
Wow! Tasco and Swaro in the same poll?
|
RE: which scope is best??
Should add...
I bought exactly one Leupold Rifleman. Then found out the Custom Shop wouldn't install turrets on it. Good scope andit held up finemounted on a 300 Ultra....but I'm a turret kind of guy. |
RE: which scope is best??
The swarovski A-line is in a totally different class than the other scopes listed.
|
RE: which scope is best??
I partial to Leupolds, but a friend just bought a Cabelas Alaskan Guide scope that is awesome. Cost around $300.

RE: which scope is best??
I think your price range is too large to get an accurate answer. You would probably be better off giving a price range you are looking in, and then asking for recommendations for a few scopes in that range. If the ones you posted are the choices though, pick the Swarovski - the others are not even close.

RE: which scope is best??
I would look at the Zeiss Conquest. I have a few of them and like them a lot better than the Leupold.
|
RE: which scope is best??
Leupold Vari-X III, 4X14X50..Illuminated..
|
RE: which scope is best??
Zeiss Conquest would be my first choice...

RE: which scope is best??
You left out Zeiss Conquest, so I voted other.
I own several Conquests and one Swarovski A series, and my eyes prefer the Conquests. It is my opinion that the Conquest line is the best optics value out there. |
RE: which scope is best??
None of the above..............
Get a Leupold VX-I or VX-II, in 3x9x40...It's the last scope your 30-06 will ever need.... The problem with the Rifleman....Let's say you want to have a certain reticle installed or the parallex changed (which I have done on all of my Leupolds)... Leupold will do that, but not to a Rifleman.... |

RE: which scope is best??
I have a Luepold MK IV and I wish I never bought it. IMHO< the best is made by Nightforce. But that is a tactical shooters perspective. The Nikon is nice, and for the money extreamlyhard to beat. Would rather buy another nikon over anything made by Luepold.

RE: which scope is best??
I voted for Nikon Buckmaster because that is best one I have now. Back in the late '70's I had a fixed 4 power Weaver that I put on many different rifles. I loved that scope, tough, held zero and crystal clear. I had it on a 10/22 and somebody stole it out of my truck in the early '80's. Remember when you could keep a gun in the gunrack of your truck and not worry about it, and we could also take it to school. After mine was stolen I never left a rifle in the rack again.

RE: which scope is best??
I also like Kahles and Zeiss, as well as Swarovski, Schmidt & Benderand Leupold. Haven't tried any Leica riflescopes yet, but they should be outstanding!

RE: which scope is best??
This is really an unfair poll, you should compare apples to apples, not apples to lemons, there is such a great difference in prices for the models you have listed. How can you even hope to compare a Bushnell legend to a Zeiss or Swaroskvy. What is your budget then look at what is available. Money wise your best values are the Nikon and the Burris. I have Bushnell Elites, Leupold's, Nikons, etc. I am now considering my first Burris.
