I bought one used andnever really shot it till this year , it is inconsistant even at the range after a lot of shooting it started shooting high at 100 yards. Ididn't try any shots over 100 yards that was in a gun vise and just bagged , it kicks and I was shooting 150 grain bullets with a load in the middle of market load andtop max load, that my boss loads for his 270 did not try any of my store bought 130 grain, probably should have .Its only 3 feet long and the barrel is 22 inches of that , it is a handi riflr sb2by new england manf. I have been curios as to how these shoot is yours similar ? I was wondering what the range iswith this rifle. The guy I bought it from said he could hit cosistantly at like 300 yards he said 1000 feeet dunno ,the barrel is so short . and I had a problem with the shells sticking in the breech when I went to eject, sent me home a couple times but thes were reloads and may not have been resized correctly. I will be doing a lot of practising with this gun to see how it shoots, hope its not the gun just me.well don't wanna ramble on forever really want to hear your input.

brush buster, I dont mean to be rude, but your answer is very hard to read. NEF single shot firearms are a pretty good bang for the buck. Nothing real great, but not much wrong with them either. I have one of the 12 guages and it shoots like it is supposed to and does it cheap. Your 270 should be just fine.

no not rude, I babbled on but I did want to know does yours have a short barrel ? what kind of scope do you have. whats the range on it ? I think my scope may be messed up I need to take it to shop and have it checked I shot it today at a hundred yards and it's off. I love the gun but need to dial it in. I only payed 100 bucks for it. and hope to get alot of hunting out of it, and sure does kick.[8D]

I have a 20 gauge Ultra Slug and it shoot amazing. My dad has a .17HMR andwill shoot nickle size groups at 50 yards. My brother has one in a 204 Ruger and it is a tack driver also. For the money you cant beat them.

My son has a H+R 158 in 30-30 and he shot several deer with it and a moose last fall.In the hinge action I prefer a rimmed cartridge as the rimless can hang up[some had problems with the .243 in this gun]His shoots MOA every day any day so for a $100 trainer for the kids who's complaining.Too bad there're not made in .303 British or 30-40 Krag! Brush, the barrels are not actually shorter than most bolt action and semi-autos. They seem shorter because there is no long action or mag well. I've had 2 of them and they shot fine.

I've got one in .270 along with barrels in about 7 other calibers as well. It cost more to put a good scope on them than buying the barrels.
They are hardy, well made, easy to clean, transport, set up shoot, and safe. Well worth the money.
There are several web pages and forums dedicated to customizing these fine little rifles\shotguns.

We have a little .223 and .243 in them and they are good rifles for the money. The only problem we've noticed is it will sometimes have the case stuck in it and you have to pull it out. I've shot a crow at 200 yards with the .223 after someone told me I could never hit it with the little rifle. If you want a inexpensive rifle they are great.
