6.5mm-06?
i was reading and artical fom a hunting mag. the auther said the he wouldall most be willing to bet that the 6.5mm 06 would be loaded in a factory car. And that posibly the 6.5 STw. would be loaded. Sence the 260rem was doing pertty goo. and scence wethbe brought out the 388-06. Do yall think the the 6.5 in 06 or Stw will be made legitmit? And how ould the 6.5mm stand up to the cerent line up?

RE: 6.5mm-06?
Im guessing your saying a 6.5x55 swede so if you are I would agree that they need better 26 caliber guns like the 264 win mag for instance. I'd buy one.

RE: 6.5mm-06?
The 6.5-06 is an excellent wildcat. I had one years ago and enjoyed it very much. In my opinion it has a lot more going for it than the .25-06. I played with various 100, 120, 125 and 140 grain bullets. I found the 125 grain Nosler partition bullet to be a great performer in the 6.5-06.
Actually the 6.5-06 is a very old concept. It first was brought on the scene in 1913 by Charles Newton. It has also been called the .256 Nieder. I've always thought that both the .25-06 and the .270 Win. were second raters to the 6.5-06. I took quite a few antelope using the 125 grain Nosler partition at about 3150 fps. I hope that this helps. |

RE: 6.5mm-06?
I have never seen a 25-06 but I have owned the 264 Win Mag and 6.5x55 mauser . What I liked about the 6.5mm was the accuracy . I would like to see it come out in a 25-06 .
