Sako L691 for a RUGER M77

I'v got an opportunity to swap my old ruger m77 7mm rem mag for a sako l691 7mm rem mag? Is this a better deal? Or is my ruger without open sites better?

Good question-which fits you better, shoots more accurately,is smoother to YOU?

Does your M77 (pre-MkII?) shoot well? Good trigger?

I don't think that anyone could honestly say that Sako's are anything but good to great rifles, and they sure cost like a premium rifle. If you were asking about a new(er) M77 MkII vs. a Sako 75, I'd take the Sako. But I don't know about the older (mid-90's) model Sako's. You might want to ask why someone would be willing to trade their Sako for your Ruger. He might just be an idiot, or he knows something about his rifle you don't and hopes to play you for the sucker.

I'd be cautious.

Mike
