Stevens Model 200

Just ordered one for my nephew in 243. From all my research they seem to be great little guns for the money. Same action as the Savage, just doesn't have the accutrigger. Anybody shooting one?

I've got one in .243 also. I shot a few boxes of the cheap blue box Federals when I first bought the gun, but recently decided to try the 85 grain Sierra loading from Federal. My rifle put three of them into 5/8" center to center, and I packed it up after that first group. Might wanna give that load a try.

Also, the trigger is easily adjustable. You might wanna have a gunsmith do it for safety's sake though.

I shot my Stevens again last weekend. I shot a five shot group with the 85gr. Sierras that went 5/8" for 4 shots that were nearly touching, and one flier about 2" high and left due to shooter error. I also putfive 70gr. Ballistic tips in just under an inch, five 80gr. Speer Hot-Cors into just over 3/4", and four out of five 85gr. Barnes TSX's into almost exactly 3/4". After the first round of TSX's the barrel was pretty hot, and it didn't get cooled down the whole time. Better yet, all 4 loads grouped within a couple of inches from each other.

I'm impressed... That little rifle may be ugly, but 4 different bullets that'll shootunder an inch and within inches of each other from a smokin' hot barrel is pretty stinkin' good.
