Goodguy I could not have said it better myself. My wife is supportive of my shooting and hunting habits and I do not tell her what I have in stock and I do sneak stuff in on occasion.

My wife knows when i am going to buy a new gun.As soon as i start working overtime she ask me if it's a new gun or a hunting trip?
After 33 years together I can't hide anything from her.She knows me to well.

My wife doesn't mind it at all. My girlfriend, on the other hand, hates it.

O.K. guys I've read your post's and tey are great. I won't claim to be Don Juan or a bad guy but I have found a way to deal with this problem! I have only been married 3 1/2 years all of which were not feeled with absolute joy and bliss, but we are better than ever. I handled the guns and hunting issue like this. 1). I tried to get her involved. did not work ( it hurt her ears, scared her and th powder stunk! well next I tried ignoring the problem and going on as usual, bad chose. hunting s man's only desire, boy did the season on that end quick. so finally I did this. I decided to show her a little romance, took her shopping once in awhile without whinning and did what se wanted done around the house in the slow season ( all of which, contrary to popular belief did not kill me !) I know guys right now your thinking is this guy nutz, a pansy or has my wife just signed in as nightmare68! none of the above, just a guy who does whatit takes to complete the hunt! after all who on this page hasn't done just about whatever it takes to bg that trophy? Just one more thing to do! ohhh and by the way cooking great recipes for the little lady from time to time sure helps to. A glass of wine, my favorite amoretto vension recipe, and some merle haggard and the season was open again, this time with no limits, point restrictions or regultions. Made it easier to hunt without all of that extra ammo, if you know what I mean. And by the way she bought me a new.338 brownig a-bolt for christmas. must've worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

remember god could have made you anything, be glad he made you AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!

I have been married for 14 years and my wife still does not like me hunting. She doesn't mind me buying "toys" for hunting. She hates the fact that I will be away all of the weekends from her. She is getting a little better because me son is of age and I can bring him with me.
She still thinks anybody who gets up that early in the morning, sits in a tree for hours on end on cold days, and spends the amounts of money I spend on hunting is STUPID. I don't disagree. She says that I can stay home, get laid, and she will cook steak and I will come out cheaper and be smarter.
I told her I was stupid when she married me and I ain't gittin any smarter.

I'm pretty honest with the wife but not quite 100%. A fellow gun aficionado suggested to me that if I start to feel guilty about my purchases, to look in my wife's closet for a quick inventory. I haven't had to do that yet but I get the picture!
