I picked up some Hornady Customs SST in 150grn yeasterday on the way home. I'm gonna take them to the range next Tuesday to see how they do. The balistics on them looked a little better than the core-lockt's (on paper that is). We'll see how my rifle likes them. I still have right at 1 month before opening day (Oct. 20th) so there's no rush.

Federal just came out with a 150 grain Accubond bullet for the '06. It looks good on paper and I'm curious to send a few down the chute.Last season I used the federal 165 gr TSX loads and they shot well at the rangeand then did the job on two lopes and a 5x5 muley. But dang them bullets is spendy. Not sure I can really tell a difference in the recoil between 180, 165 and 150 gr bullets, but Iwonder if the 180sdo more damage to the meat than is necessary forthe same result you would get in a lighter bullet. There's so many flavors of bullet makes and weights available, especially in the06,it could almost drive a guy crazy and bankrupt trying them all.
