? For sks owners

I am thinking about disabling my gas system when I sight and hunt with my scope on my sks. Will this harm the gun in anyway or should I just keep it as it is?

Speaking as a gunsmith,I STRONGLY advise against doing that.

That's why I asvised him not to do it cause I don't know which model sks he has or exactly how he's going to disable it. It's always best to err on the side of safety.

I was about to ask, HOW did you plan to "disable" the gas system? Except for ones made with the switch for this, I fear you might damage it in the process.
