Of the two I have, the browning has a bit better trigger and the Ruger has better sights. Confused yet?;)

You guys are killing me!!! At least I know that the choices I've "narrowed down" are good ones. I guess I'll have to just try them out to see what feels best....

Another question: Do you think that there would be much accuracy difference in the barrel length (e.g.4.5 inch vs the 6 7/8 inch barrel in the Ruger). I do know that the longer barrel may be easier to stabilize/steady, but I'm looking atinherent accuracy in the gun itself as well as ease of carrying in the woods.

The answer has become very clear! BUY a Ruger and a Buckmark!
Do you plan on putting a scope on it? Do you plan on buying aftermarket parts to improve the accuracy ot trigger feel?

i've had a buckmark for well over 10 years.one of the features i like, mag release button is behind the trigger (like on a 1911) release on a ruger is a latch at the bottom of the grip. ruger's set up seems easier to bump by accident. both are the class of the field when it comes to affordable hunting pistols. the best advise was to buy both. i would NEVER sell my buckmark, but i would love to have one of those government target model rugers. either one will be great, you can't go wrong

The new Ruger MK3's have a magazine release simular to the Browning, To me, that is the only improvement the MK3's offer. The rest of the new features on the MK3's are only there to benefit attorneys
