Scope base problem
 

I have just bought a Stevens 200 bolt action rifle and I have no idea what type or sizeof scope bases I should buy. Can someone lend me a hand hear?

savage 110 bases should work. weaver, leupold, burris, b-square among others all make these bases. Check out midwayusaor natchezss. Depending on whatsizescope you are planning on mounting, the medium height usually works well on 3-9x40 glass.

Weaver mounts #46 or #46M (M for Matte) front and rear.
Or the many others mentioned will work great.
Stop by a local smith and he'll tell you what you need. His prices for proper installation and bore sighting may be reasonable .. unless you're confident then go ahead and tackle it yourself.

You can go to this website http://www.swfa.com/ and follow the Mounts menus. Most of the manufacturers have a chart to help you chose the right base for your rifle. I like the Leupold mount.

Whatever you get, I STRONGLY suggest a 1 piece mount

I agree that a one piece base is mechnically better than a 2-piece base. The problem with the one piece base is that it makes it harder to load the rifle from the top. I really need to use my 2 hands: one to push the cartridge down the magazine and the other one to slide the new cartridge. I always brake nails if I do it with only one hand or just cannot do it if it is really cold.
