I thought the wingmaster still had machined parts??? I do know the express is cast/stamped!

Thanks for everybodies input, think I will be going with the express as it's my first shotgun and need functional and not too pretty, lol, that first scratch won't hurt as much then
Its a good plan. Should serve you well. Every gunnut should own a 870express at least one on thier life.

870 20 Guage wingmaster was my first shotgun and my first 12 guage was a Express!

I disagree that they are equal mechanically. My Wingmaster is extremely smoother to pump than my express. I can hold my Wingmaster by the slide and turn the gun upside down and it will pump itself, my Express will not do this.

I grew up using a wingmaster and treated it with kit gloves becasue it was my fathers. It looked and operated like a great pump should. I went out and bought the Express in the super magnum.

The wood and finish for the wingmaster is way better than the express. The express will quickly rust after a day long dove hunt in Texas. However if you ever need an extra boat paddle, the express can be used for that, then simply drain the water out and begin shooting your ducks.
