hornady sst
Is hornady sst a ballistic tip bullet? any experience with them?

RE: hornady sst
Basically it's the same thing, they're designed so that the polymer tip is pushed back into a void causing an explosive action that allows the rest of the bullet to expand extremely well. Much cheaper than the Noslers.

I tried the 150gr bullets in a 30-06 and the accuracy was good but didn't try them on game .They don't make them in .243 cal.or at least I have never found any .

RE: hornady sst
The SST is a heavier jacketed polymer tipped bullet that should exit a deer's far side.
They're very accurate....at least as good as Nosler's Ballistic tip, and do a very good job. There is a 95 grain .243 SST and I've used it.....it really works well!! |
RE: hornady sst
they are just like the nosler ballistic tips. never shot them but the NBT's shot great in mine.

RE: hornady sst
Yes the sst is in 243 also, just ordered a box to try day before yesterday,(100gr or 95 gr. some catologs say 100gr some say 95gr.)
I have been shooting them since they came out, took several deer with them in different cal. They work great in my 260,7/08,280,and 30/06.From 45 to 200 yds never had one to stay in the deer all complete pass throughs even shoulder hits.Have used NBT also and they worked great too,but I get 50 more bullets for just a little more money. http://www.hunting-pictures.com/memb...ght&encore.jpg |
