Winchester model 12 question

I was at Cabelas yesterday and I saw about 10 of these guns for sale in their used gun department ranging in price from 300 to 1500 bucks. I'd like to buy a couple of them but am not sure about the prices. My question is where can I find what they are worth or at least a fair price?

RE: Winchester model 12 question

We have one that's a 20 and dad had someone tell him it was worth more because of when it was made. Had something to do with the war. Would that be right? I have no idea what war this would have been as I don't now when this gun was made. It was my great granddads so it would have to be WWI or WWII. I just remember dad talking about it so I just have bits and pieces.

Sorry, the gun is not for sale as it's a family gun but seeing this post made me think of it.
