RE: What .22 is the best?
Volquartsen!

RE: What .22 is the best?
I voted Marlin. They're accurate andoperate reliably.

RE: What .22 is the best?
Best? For What?
Cooper. For a kid? no. Then I would go with a 10/22 loaded one shell at a time. |
RE: What .22 is the best?
Can't answer a simple "best for?" without know what it's "best for" entails. Range plinking, hunting, target, competitive shooting?

RE: What .22 is the best?
I have to agree with Maine Shooter as without knowing what you are being the best at it is difficult to say the least.. Although I choose other in relation to growing up I used a Springfield that taught me how to shoot. It was a single shot bolt action with a part on the bolt you had to pull back in order to shoot. Shooting one shot at a time you learned how to make it count.

RE: What .22 is the best?
Anschutz

RE: What .22 is the best?
My Marlin 60 is still running like a top. Dad got it for me when I was just a baby. Been shooting it for darn near 20 years. They're a little different now. The front sight is hooded, the bolt handle is rolled steel instead of forged, etc. Still good guns.

RE: What .22 is the best?
Not a good question! Too many variables. The Sako TRG 22 is the best production 22. But who wants to spend $2500 for hunting or plinking. So to answer the original question, the Sako TRG 22. Best reasonably priced plinking or hunting rifle for me is the Ruger 10/22. Best hang in your truck window rifle is the marlin 60.

RE: What .22 is the best?
Browning Buckmark for my purposeshehe
I'm a big 10/22 fan, though. |
RE: What .22 is the best?
No doubt about it Kimber of Oregon Model 82 or a Cooper. Anschutz is right behind. I would consider the Anschutz an equal if it was American made. Tom.

RE: What .22 is the best?
Anschutz probably makes the most accurate OTC 22's, they have plenty of Olympic gold medals to prove it. Another great thing is that they make a good variety of them. Fit and finish are superb and they make some of the best trigger mechanisms there are period. I have a couple of 17 HMR's from them and have no complaints.:D
Cooper, Dakota and Kimber all make great rimfires also but personally I think they are behind Anschutz in the target/accuracy dept. When it comes to gracefull lines, stock work etc onRF sporters,Cooper and Dakota cant be beat. With all that said, these all come with a much higher price than the Savage,CZ,Marlin,Rugers .It really comes down what you personally value and want to spend in a product to say what is best. |
RE: What .22 is the best?
ruger 10/22, a classic that lives on
|
RE: What .22 is the best?
I like my CZ 452 Lux. Haven't shot a lot of others though.
|
RE: What .22 is the best?
My kimber is best for ME for most uses.
|
RE: What .22 is the best?
I will stick with my old Cooey. It is a true tack puncher.
|
RE: What .22 is the best?
I personally prefer the Ruger 10/22, but my father-in-law has a Marlin that is more accurate.

RE: What .22 is the best?
The best is not on your list IMO...
I say Kimber. But many would argue Cooper and most high end shooters may argue Anschutz.. These three really should have been on the list. Winchester model 52 also a great choice, although older. I have a new Kimber K/22 classicwith talley's and a leupold. With Eley ammo it shoots a ragged hole at 50. This is my choice but not the best choice for all.. If looking for a good fun gun I say the Ruger 10/22, all around on of the most popular ever. |
RE: What .22 is the best?
I like them accurate, and i like then "less" than full sized... I hate a beached whale, (Ruger) or a tank, (Cooper/Win 52 ect..)
So, i choose Anschutz... BUT, years ago i would have chose a Remington 541-S I looked at a new Browning T-bolt the other day... it was nice, i liked it, but i don't know how accurate it would be.. DM |
RE: What .22 is the best?
I have a CZ for my son and works great, I shoot a Ruger
