Gotta get it broken in a bit which may take 100-200 rounds. Also try different ammo.

What will it shoot withoutthe scope?

These old eyes can't do very well without the scope , I might get a young buck to try and see.

Have you tried the Remington Golden Bullets? My stock, bottom of the line 10-22 with a 3-9X32 scope shoots .75" groups at 50 yards using the golden bullets, and they don't jam very often. Could just be my gun, but they might be worth trying.
