Isn't the .500 S&W a pistol? I wouldn't think that it recoils too much in rifle format.
A .44 RemingtonMagnum doesn't kick bad in a rifle.
I believe you are correct. I thought he was refering to 50 cal cartridge for the long range guns.

Obviously, because of 375's smiley, you can tell he was joking.

Now, if we were talking about suggesting a .450 Marlin, there would be trouble.
