You are walking through the woods in an arctic climate on a backpacking expidition of some sort and all of the sudden a Grizzly crosses your path! What would your weapon of choice be for the said situtation?

- "When you've lost the 'Buck Fever' its time to move on to another sport!"

If I was just backpacking I'd probably have a Taurus raging bull in 480 ruger. If I was on a hunting trip then whatever I had in my hand, probably a 338 mag.

And when all else fails you only have to out run you companions, not the grizzly.

Or a rifle of similar caliber.

Anything smaller for a CHARGING grizzly at CLOSE RANGE does about as much good as pissing in the ocean.

Yeah, I have heard all the stories of &quot;Me and my .44 mag., etc.&quot; RIGHT!!!! But if a grizzly is going to try to eat me for lunch I would rather have the deck stacked in MY favor!

The goverment (fed and state) say the only way to go is BEAR SPRAY!!! It's the only thing that's effective, and of course it doesn't hurt the bear. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!

Any time I go out I'm packin a heavy loaded 45 colt or my FA 454 both with 330 gr LBT's. Not ideal, but it's better than a switch.

at close range and last resort situation,what alot bear guides are beginning to carry now,12 gauge smooth bore shotgun with a 1 1/4 oz rifled slug.absolutly devastating at close range.
