wingmaster?

I just purchased a wingmaster from an individual, it has yellow lettering on the reciever and barrel, I was wondering if there was any special significance to this type of lettering or is it just something Remington did from time to time.

This is too well done to be filled in with an engraving pen. It looks as if it was done at manufacturing.

cma3366a..you said 99 times out of 100....what is the one time it is not done with a pen? Thanks, Boxerkidd

The fore-end of the gun does have a quite different checkering pattern on it, made up of seven diamonds connected together. The butt stock is not as detailed, it only has the checkering on the grip. The barrel on the other hand has no vent rib but, an engraving done down to the sight pin that looks like a sight rail, the same type ofmachining done on the top of the receiver. There is no extensive engraving done on the receiver, other than the gold inlay.
