Wolf 223 Ammo

Ok, well it looks like I learned my lesson. I and my brother both bought 1000 rounds of wolf 55gr hollow points. We both tried them in our Bushmaster ARs. And both of them jammed horribly. I even had a difficult time unloading from my mag. The steel cases are just binding in the mag. These are not the laquer coated, but polymer. So I fired off 30 rounds of M193, and not a hicup. Also tried remington, no problems. I also tried my H&K 30 round mag, and it did better than the bushmaster 30 round with wolf ammo. But still jammed.

So I came home and tried to load and eject 20 rounds thru my 20 round with green follower and tephlon coated Bushmaster. The wolf ammo seemed to feed fine.

Are the the bushmaster mags with grey follower not good for wolf steel ammo? Even my H&K mag has trouble.

I keep hearing some people talk about the english versions.

I think it's just that Wolf ammo is junk. I shot it through my Encore and the rounds were all over the paper. The Winchester ammo I normally shoot for yotes and woodchucks is more expensive, but a heck of alot more accurate.

I was just getting ready to order some. It sounds like you do not like it. I think I will pass on it now. I will save up some money and buy some better stuff. I am buying alot of ammo and components right now. I have talked to a few people I know in the industry-they told me ammunition and component prices are about to go through the roof. Tom.

The Wolf .223 ammo does seem to be a little less accurate. I have never had a problem with the .223 jamming in mine, but I am shooting a sporter AK, so nothing will probably ever jam it up. I have had success with the Silver Bear ammo and it is plenty cheap as well.

Ok, let me rephrase this question. Does anyone with a bushmaster shoot 223 wolf ammo, the newer stuff, not laquer coated, with bushmaster mags with grey follower? And does anyone know a good mag that will work with wolf ammo?

with bushmaster mags with grey follower?
I've never seen a Bushmaster mag with a gray follower??? I have 3-30s and 4-20s (bushmasters) and they all have green followers.

As far as the ammo goes, Wolf is ok if you just want to bang away and make noise, but it isn't much good for anything else. I've never had a jam in my SKS, but the poly coated .45 ammo is the only thing that has ever jammed my 1911- if ball ammo jams a good 1911, its pretty bad ammo.

Just talked to bushmaster, they claim part of it is wolf ammo, and the other part could be, they shipped out severl mags last year that had high welds on one side. They said they would fix it for me. Just sounds stange, that two different guns, bought in two different states, would have the same exact issue.

They said they would ship out a new rebuild kit with a new follower (green) and see if that fixes it.

I got 100 rounds of that stuff for like 20 bucks at a gun show and I didn't have a single problem with it out of any of my 3 30 rounders. It wasn't as accurate out of my Mini-14 (if you can evenuse those two words in a sentence) as the cheapest Federals but for making noise and letting friends shoot that wouldn't hit anything or know a difference anyway, it worked fine.

Do you mean a semi-auto uzi? Or do you have a full-auto permit?
