Not you Ridgerunner.

Iwith ya,if you can get a 280 Remington into a carbine mag and then get it to chamber then go right ahead and fire away.

dudz, we all start somewhere when we start shooting. So I will make an effort with your post. yup you may indeed have an m1 carbine. Stick to thirty caliber m1 carbine ammo; try no substitutes. Also, keep your carbine clean and the bolt and rails lightly oiled. This weapon will fire when the bolt is not fully locked. Always, always wear ear protection and shooting glasses. Good shooting!

I have a 1942 Carabine 30 US M1 with 15 and 30 round mags.

Can i use .280 ammo in this gun without modifications ? I understand the case is almost identicle.

Thanks
Paul
What .280 are you talikng about? The .280 British? Not the .280 Remingnton surely!!

I have seen a carbine modified to shoot some pretty unlikely rounds, such as a rimless .38/40 made from '06 brass, the 5.7mm MMJ, etc.. But rebarreling is required and pressures have to be kept around 40K PSI or less......

Is that correct? I can't imagine that to be a safe way of telling
That method would be the safest I can think of, 'cause "it cain't be did"!!

I wish you the best in loading a 280 Reminton in the 15/20/30 roundmagazine . Let us know how it comes out.
