I decided the name of my new rifle shall be EXCALIBUR. I'm planning on having a silver plate added to the stock with it's name on it. I got this tradition from my grandfather he embeded a Gold Morgan Dollar in the stock of his hunting rifle and named it lucky. It really makes the rifle unique and gives a very personal feel to it. Anywho, I was wondering if anyone else does things like this and what they named or did?
Morgan Dollars were made in Silver, not gold. I guess maybe he had a gold-plated commemerative.

It's gold. Well part of it is now. At least it looks that way to me.I went to clean off some tarnish from it when I first got the rifle and where I buffed it came out silver so I stopped. I didn't know if I was buffing off gold plating or what. I'll get a picture of it.I had the gun restored and re-blued last spring. The guy did a great job. But the stock was cracked so the guy at the shop bonded it back together. Still it's gottoo manysizeable cracks in it from sitting in an attic for 15 years to be used in the field. When I got it restored I decided to keep it as a "safe queen" because I didn't want to change the stock out. It's just too unique. Anywho, that's why I bought my current rifle to take the place of this one. And where I got the idea to name it.
