The gun that got away
So how many guns do you regret not buying at the time, and are no longer available?
Me [ul][*]Ruger PC9 (I didn't realize it was discontinued until last week)[*]A custom left handed Sako made by Mark Penrod[/ul] |
RE: The gun that got away
A new in the box Wincherster M70 featherwieght in 6.6X55 Sweedish Mauser. I had it in my hands and hesitated when it was on the block at auction. I may see one again and get a chance to buy it. But I have wished I'd bought it several times since.

It hasn't been discontinued but I had a chance to get a brand new S&W .357 snubby (exact model escapes me) about a month ago for $250and I passed it up. Supposedly he just wanted to get rid of a few and was selling them at a loss or so a friend's dad who knows the owner of the shop was telling me.
The reason I passed it up? I didn't want to go 15 minutes out of my way on the way back home for the weekend. Boy do I regret that... |

None really. For the most part if I know of one I want, I'l save and have it shorty thereafter. It's the ones I now wish I'd gotten but at that time didn't have any interest in them.
Ruger #1 .257 Roberts M700 in .300 H&H Ruger Hawkeye well, ok there's a couple I knew about but when I decided to get them, they were gone: Ruger SBH Hunter in 41 magnum Ruger SBH Bisley hunter in .41 magnum Ruger SBH Bilsey Hunter in .45 Colt (I only got the standard 45 Colt Hunter) |

RE: The gun that got away
I can't think of any that I wanted to buy and didn't, but I can think of a few that I had and got rid of and now can't replace[&o].
One would be my .22 Automag with a six inch barrel made by AMT. The other is my browning High Power with the 13 shot clip and no mag safety. I do have two guns that are oddities to a point and they don't make them anymore. I have a Browing A-5 Stalker with a 21 inch barrel and my dad gave me one of the earlier winchester 9410 lever action 410's last year. I have more trouble with this in archery than I do guns. By the time I can afford to buy a particular bow they have dropped it from the line up. I really wanted a Hoyt Cybertec with the Versa cam. By the time I could actually get it they didn't carry it anymore[:@]. Paul |
RE: The gun that got away
Colt AR-15 with a grenade launcher for $600, not discontinued, but now with all the California anti-gun/fun laws it cannot be bought.

RE: The gun that got away
Don't regret not buying the Ruger PC9 I bought one a few years back for $470. I shot a box of shells through it and tried to sell it and the most I could get was $200.

RE: The gun that got away
At a gun show, of unknown make, single shot break action shotgun, 8 gauge.

RE: The gun that got away
A CZ 9mm with a screw on compensator. They made them quit selling them here because you could unscrew the compensator and screw on a silencer.
