There's certainly nothing wrong with a 22" barrel on a .270, but a medium-weight 24" would be somewhat better......

What is the length of the barrels of the other firearms you own? With what ever model you choose check the balance. I think how it feels on the shoulder is more important to you,than the velocity isto the deer.

If you have access, chrono both. You will be supprised how much difference the 2" make!
