Winchester .22LR

There was a post not too long ago about Thunderbolt .22 problems. I experienced these same problems and am considering switching to Winchester Xpert .22lr. I was wondering if this is any good?

I'm typically a Winchester Ammo only guy, but I've had problems with the XPert 22LR's in semi auto weapons, like my 10-22 and my S&W 22A pistol.
In my son's single shot and my buddies bolt 22 they work and perform just fine.

Ive never used the ammo your talking about but i never seem to have problems with any Winchester ammo. Its all i will use in my rifles.

They wouldn't cycle in my Cooey either. Turned my semi into a hard to use single shot.

I do agree totally. MY OPINION is that they have the all around best factory ammo, but those just didn't agree with my 22's.

I have had excellent use with the xpert in my browning buckmark camper and my savage mkII no misfires compared to others and the federal bulk is a close second, better than the golden bullets but i use them to and get a misfire here and there

Personally my guns seem to shot the Winchester rounds the best. I used to buy the bulk Remington rounds and we were having problems with duds shooting them in a automatic pistol. with the Winchester we have very few problems.

I don't know if this is exactly true or not, it's JMO, but my semi auto 22's don't particularly like the bulk rounds as well as the ones like CCI that are individually put"holders" like centerfire rounds.
I was wondering if maybe during the bulk packaging process if one here or there gets dinged or nicked up a little which could cause them to hang up during the auto loading process?????
Again, just a little thought I had. In my boy's single shot 22 the Winchester Xperts work flawlessly.

My 10-22 doesn't like any of the bulk rounds. I shoot CCIs now and never a problem. I think they have a little more power in them to cycle the action, but not sure.

A 10-22 is what I'm talking about as well.

CCI are great rounds and I like them in my rifle, though if I try to shoot them in my pistol they will jam everytime. I don't know if it is because they are loaded a little hotter and the case expands or what but everytime I try to shoot them in the pistol they will fire but not eject. I have to dig out the spent case.

I shoot nothing but Winchester T-22 target ammo through my .22s (REM 581,541, Ruger MKII Target, Bearcat). Good stuff at a reasonable price.

I normally try winchester ammo first in any weapon I buy. They just make good ammo in my opinion. I try remington last in most cases.

I have pretty good luck with CCI as well.

I will agree with the Bulk ammo thing. I usually don't have much luck with it, no matter what brand it is.
