RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
Very interesting...Also probably very expensive...
Oh well..Another choice for reloaders..As long as it is a quality product, I guess it's a good thing... Kind of ironic, though... For years Nosler's partition was revolutionary and consideredstate of the art as far as performance was concerned..Now they're copying another bullet maker... |

barnes x- are all copper no?
|
RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
If you read it carefully, it claims to be a proven alloy that uses a gilding metal frame ( ? ) but sure looks like copper to me. Humm... It’s funny how they happen to say it’s lead free just like the Barns bullets advertising...

RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
I think they are trying to invent something already available.
|
RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
I think they are getting ready for the day when "lead" in bullets will be banned.... I'm sure it's comeing at some point, in some area's sooner than others...
It's "not" a copper bullet, and it has a polly tip... That means they didn't copy Barns, that's for sure... As for advertiseing, of course they will compare themselves to who ever else has a non lead bullet... I use to compare my bonded core copper bullets to the other copper bullets at that timewhen i mfg'd them too... DM |

RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
You do realize barnes has a MRX bullet out and guilding metal is a copper alloy don't ya? Yes, i know what guilding metal is... The key word is "alloy". That does make a difference. DM |
RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
Is the skin on animals getting thicker or the bones getting harder. Every year they seem to keep re-inventing the wheel with these new super bullets. I thought the barnes were over kill.
Its nice to have choice as a reloader but how much weight retention do we need. You'd think whitetails and elk start wearing bullet proof vests. |
RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
I will look forward to trying them out. Things just keep getting better in the bullet world. New advances in bullets has equalized the different calibers a lot.

ORIGINAL: DM ![]() ![]() I guess it, along with the other monolithic bullets, will meet the "no lead" requirement of jurisdictions like CA. But what about us muzzleloader guys who use old-timey guns? Are they going to make soft copper balls? Bismuth balls? Hmmmmmm..... |

RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
Looks to me like the big advantage is it will expand some at low velocity and lots at higher velocity. The "competition" does not expand hardly at all at low velocity (like at long range when the bullet has slowed down a lot)
I'd like to see a similar series of pics of several differnt types and stiles of bullets. (like the "old fasion" partition) Robin |

" What..?.. An X-bullet with a polycarbonate tip stuck in the hollow point..? "
Thanks, Eldeguello.... I'm glad I wasn't the ONLY one who noticed that...;).... I'm not criticizing....I've always liked ballistic tips, and a couple of my rifles favor TSX bullets...I may givethe new noslerbullets a try... |
RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
These are for the places that are going to "outlaw lead bullets" and bullets that contain lead --another way to strike at gun owners. Places like the Kingdom of Kalyfornia... |

Once all of the lead bullets are out of circulation, its only a matter of time before 'cop killer' solid copper or solid copper alloy bullets will be banned.[:@] Exactly |

RE: So, What Do You Think Of Noslers NEW Bullet?
The way it opens look an awful lot like the Winchester Fail Safe or the new XP3 bullet. Not all copper but they certainly look to have a similar design.
