Good Lord Man! Are you alright?

RE: 300 t/c
Don't jsut show us a pic of an exploded gun. Give us the story behind it.
Was the shooter using hand loaded ammo? Could there have been an obstruction in the barrel? Etc... Etc... |
RE: 300 t/c
Yes, I'd like to hear some details as well!

RE: 300 t/c
wasn't me shooting. the barrel couldn't handle the pressure of the cartrige. no known problembs with non fluted barrels. it was a .300 RUM factory load

RE: 300 t/c
Didn't know that T/C made a 300 RUM. Never seen or heard of one. Is it a T/C made barrel?
|
RE: 300 t/c
Maybe coultit have been a bad load that was loaded to too high of pressure?

RE: 300 t/c
Same here. I can't find it listed anywhere that sells T/C barrels Like Foxridge ect. They list 416 Rigby and 375 H&H and many other standard Magnums like the 7 MM and 300 Win Mag.

RE: 300 t/c
Whomever rechambered this barrel to 300RUM is the idiot responsible for the explosion.
The chamber is only 1" in diameter on the encore barrels(a bolt gun barrel is 1.2" or larger) and the RUM case is .553" and that leaves .220" of steel to surround the cartridge. No wonder it exploded. This is why TC does not chamber the RUM's. They aren't designed to handle this kind of pressure. |
