thunderbolt .22
normally thunderbolt .22 is my chioce for a day at the range because it is cheap and is usually pretty good. But yesterday i went to the range and I had at least 20 duds my freind had the same problem. (he was using a different brick) Does anybody have any experience with this round and had the same problem.

RE: thunderbolt .22
I've had the exact same problem.
I'll go to the range the next week, shoot from the same brick, and have no duds. |
RE: thunderbolt .22
I was with Snedd when this happened. We purchased our bricks from different stores but in the same week as far as Irecall. They may have been from the same production lot. Still, a good round for plinking.

RE: thunderbolt .22
Probably some the crappiest ammo I have used. Never have good luck with it, especially when I buy it in bulk. That's ok, it has never been that accurate in any of my guns anyway so I normally don't buy it.
I tend to have better luck with Winchester and CCI ammo. Paul |
RE: thunderbolt .22
Cheap, but boyit makes a mess of the gun.

RE: thunderbolt .22
.22 thunderbolts are normally the cheapest .22 round you can find around here. i think they are o.k. for plinking but i wouldn't count on them for sighting in or hunting.

RE: thunderbolt .22
I agree with bulzeye. Probably the dirtiest .22LR I've ever used.

RE: thunderbolt .22
Does anyone have a recomendation for a better .22 round? I've found the Thunderbolts to be extremely accurate (when they fire) with my 597.

RE: thunderbolt .22
Federal Premium is usually good. Winchester isn't bad either, just dirty. The Winchester shoots great groups from a rusty old Mossberg 351CA .22 I bought recently. This is quite impressive since I wasn't even sure if the rifle would function at all!

RE: thunderbolt .22
i use the Federals. you can buy a brick of 550 rounds for around $15-$19
