What bullet at the range?

Don't want to start a "poll" or nothing, just a few educated responses to this:
What bullet type do you prefer or recomend for target/range shooting . . . "plinkin'". Full metal jacket or solid lead.
And why.
Which one is easier on the bore? I guiess that's the ultimate question.
And why.

I'll use whatever is closest to my standard hunting bullet. Some lead, others jackets, some solids.

i agree with maine shooter but i love shooting my .22 because theres no recoil and it very cheap for a good day at the range.

Specifically I'm shooting a .45 ACP. When I'm practicing with hunting guns, I do stay close to hunting rounds. But I'm not doing that with the pistol. I'll be shooting 100+ rounds when I go shooting and have heard conflicting stories about FMJ and solid lead bullets and their wear efect on rifling/bores.

FMJ rounds are generally less expensive and produce less barrel fouling. All around an excellent choice for plinking. Sellier and Bellot is good ammo and on the cheaper side.
