700 Remington ADL trigger question...........
Is it at all possible to have the trigger on these rifles adjusted to a safe settingor should I just forget wasting my time and get a decent replacement trigger?

RE: 700 Remington ADL trigger question...........
I have adjusted a lot of M700's triggers and never had a problem getting a nice crisp, no creep, 2 3/4-3# pull. While they may not be as silky as some of the aftermarkets IMHO they can be purdy darn good especially for a hunting rifle!
Here's a link on how to (if you feel it is over your head a gunsmith can do it for a reasonable price). Good luck http://www.quarterbore.com/library/articles/rem700trigger.html |
RE: 700 Remington ADL trigger question...........
All 5 of my 700's have been adjusted and they all turned out very nicely. They arent quite as good feeling as a Timney but they are pretty close.

RE: 700 Remington ADL trigger question...........
There is another site out there called "Remington Crisp" that also details how to set 700 style triggers, but the Quarterbore site already mentioned has illustrations also. Either one will get you through it just fine.

Yeah there is really nothin to it. I can notice a great deal of difference in the pull. I haven't shot it yet though.
