Remington Model 721
 

My wife's uncle inherited a .270 Remington Model 721 that was in a pretty neglected state, and was in the process of doing a thorough cleaning and stock refinishing job when he suffered a heart attack and passed away.

I'd like to finish the job for him so my cousin can hunt with the gun, but unfortunately, there's no illustrated parts breakdown for the trigger assembly to be found. (I'm guessing that my uncle was going to get it back together from memory.)

Anyway, does anyone out there have an illustrated parts breakdown of the trigger assembly for the Model 721? I've been in contact with Remington, and they are going to send me one, but they said it'll take 4-6 weeks to get it sent out, and I'd like to get one faster if possible.

Any help would certainly be appreciated.

No, I don't. But it is a relatively simple mechanism, as I recall, after having taken mine (LONG GONE!!) apart several times. However, I believe you can clean it pretty well by just spraying the housing full of Gun Scrubber or some such solvent, then blowing it out with compressed air so you won't have to take it completely apart.

You're probably right about the trigger being a fairly simply mechanism, unfortunately, the gun's a "basket case"...any part that could be taken apart, has been. I know if I sat down and tried to piece it together like a jigsaw puzzle, that I'd eventually get it together, but I'd much rather play it safe - especially with something like a trigger assembly - and use an illustration to make sure that I'm doing it right.
