Henry US Survival .22

This rifle looks very appealing to me. I'd really like to have an easily storable rifle for plinking and basically just to have. Does anyone have any experience with these? Thanx.

Some years back, I had one and it worked well. As I remember, someone else made it back then but after looking at a new one, I'm sure its the same gun.

Have had one for almost 20 years keep it under the back seat to dispatch wounded deer/ critters that have had auto encounters. If I were going to by a gun to shoot I would rather spend it on a 10/22 or something....

It's the least accurate firearm that I have ever fired.

I've had a few of them, also the pistol version of the same action. In fact, i still have one... They aren't so bad... They shoot good enough for small game to keep you alive and that's whatthey were designed for...

I believe all of mine were made by Charter Arms...

Have you ever checked out the Marlin "Papoose"? They are going for around $100 used at gun shops. My father in law has a Ducks Unlimited model he won a few years ago, nice little gun.

sjsfire,
the papoose is a good gun but the henry is more of a survival rifle because it breaksdown into about 12" and it fits in the stock which is also water proof. the papoose cant do that all it is is a two piece gun

I bought one for my 12-year old daughter last summer. It's a fine little rifle. I shoot only Velocitors through mine, and it has never once malfunctioned. It's reasonably accurate, extremely light weight, and small enough that it's not a hassle to throw on the seat of the truck when I need to make a short trip out to the ranch.
