scope question

what would be a recommended scope for my NEF .243. I am going to use it for 'yotes. I have a Leupold Vari X II 3x9x40 on it now. Do I need more magnigification and an adjustable parelex? I was thinking about a Burris 4-12 or 4-16.

I have shot coyotes at distances out to 400 yards or so with a 3x9 scope and find that this is plenty of power for this use.If you were talking prairie dogs or other small game that would be a different story.
