Encore ? about zero's
I got a fine new rifle recently , an encore in .204 ruger . I was dialed in for a perfect 200 yd zero . I got a little sand or dirt in the action that made an awful noise when opening and closing the rifle . I figured that I'd do a barrel off cleaning of the thing . Once I put it back together , I was missing some pretty easy shots . It seems to me that my zero moved down about 2.5 min. I'm wondering if any of you have had this same experaince ? Or maybe I've just lost my touch . Thanks .

I do not think 2.5 inches is alot, when you take barrels on and off. I have seen rifles shoot 2.5 inches off just by cleaning. On the Encore, some return to zero, and some do not, but 2.5 inches is not alot. Tom.

Yes, taking on and off encore barrels usually results in zero being off by upwards of 3MOA. Nothing unusual. You take a bolt apart and can see simular results. Tighter the fit is, better it is. usually the culprit can be the forarm and how tight you tighten the screws. This is the reason I freefloated mine.
