I have bought one in a Rem 700 ADL and another in an encore. I sold the one 700 to my brother. Both shoot about the same accuracy, but this calbieri s better suited in a 700 or model 7.

I have a .204 in a CZ 527 varmiter, Its a nifty rifle that fits like a glove and is a pleasure to shoot.

If you handload, you might want to look into the .220 Swift, good long-distance cartridge. Ruger makes a good .220.

Or, if you still want that small cal., but want more ammo availability, get a .17 HMR. Marlin makes bolt-actions in that round.

Younggun, you don't like your 204? Or does your 220 do a better job?

I'm just giving other options, it's good to explore all your options when you're about to spend a hunk of dough.

I havent had a 204 Ruger but for a couple of months but so far I am quite pleased with mine. I went with CZ 527 Kevlar Varmint and it makes a dandy walking coyote gun and is accurate to boot. I made this post awhile back on the 204 Ruger http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1940554&mpage=1&key=?

Youggun243, have you had any experience with the 204 Ruger or for that matter the 220 swift? I could reccomend a 223 Rem in a Handi Rifle too for another option but the poster asked a specific question on dfferent makes of 204 Ruger rifles. Ok, ok, I was just wondering?[8D]

Not the .204, but my family has harvested many a varmit with the .220 Swift, but they got rid of it after they thought the cartridge was going extinct(before I was old enough toshoot) and my grandpa got a .22-250, which I shoot, and I know that thing is full of zip, and I've been told from close relativesthe .220 Swift has more.

Since I have no .204 experiance, I am showing what I do know.

Is a .204 even big enough for coyotes? I know the .17 HMR isn't ideal from just looking at the bullet.
