This is the place to get ideas and opinions so here goes.

I want to get a 300 WSM. Now the question is which rifle. I want a wood stock. I would like to have it in a 19/20 inch barrel -- but would go to regular length if that is not possible. I want to have a ligther gun and understand the trade off with the shorter barrel and weigth.Again wood stock is a must even though I know I can drop the weight with a synthetic stock. Price - not really an issue.

So what are your ideas?

Check out Remington model 7 CDL 20 inch barrel walnut stock weight 6.5lbs

The model 7 is going to have a 22 inch barel in the magmum chamberings.

You aren't goint to find a factory rifle chambered in 300wsm that is going to have a short barrel like that.

You can get a Remington LTR in 300SAUM with a 20 inch barrel.

browning mico hunter has a 22" barrel and is chambered in 300 wsm

I'd check into the Kimber 8400 WSM's. They do have a 24 inch barrel though, but are light in weight. They are finely crafted rifles and shoot well with varied ammo. You could do alot worse my friend. Good luck in your selection.

I guess I dont understand why you want a short barrel.To get all that there is to get a 24in barrel would be better. Mine has a 26 in tube and it is just fine with me.
