IL To Ban Hunting Guns!
IL has a bill on the senate floor right now that will, if passed, make semi-auto shotguns, rifles and pistols illegal. You will be grandfathered in as long as you register your weapon with the state. If not, you will be charged with a felony! As hunters, we need to see this for what it is, the start of the end of hunting in IL and maybe other states in the future. We need to rally against this for many reasons. Most of all because it is unconstitutional and is not in any hunters best interest. Think of what it will do to the DNR, farmers who count on lease money, gas stations and sporting goods stores, butchers, etc. The list goes on and on. If you are an IL resident, contact your state senator now and tell them you are against SB16! I have also just seen this proposed as afederal ammendment to the US Assault Weapons ban. Spread this around and start talking! If we let this go, you will see hunting as we know it change or go away forever. For more, see the links: http://isra.org/ (Scroll down and you will see the story and a link to the bill) http://http://www.godlikeproductions.com/bbs/message.php?messageid=355802&mpage=1&showd ate=3/8/07&forum=1 (This is the federal bill) |

Its your own fault for electing the bums.
Has the bill made it out of committee and is now being debated on the floor or is this just some Lefty from Chi-town trying to appease the inner city crowd? |
RE: IL To Ban Hunting Guns!
that makes me sick, this could turn out bad for everyone reading this. can we thank jim zumbo for this ?

RE: IL To Ban Hunting Guns!
If I'm not mistaken it is illegal to hunt with semi-auto rifles in Michigan.
I'm also not saying that IL shouldn't fight to keep the right. Just saying. Tom |
RE: IL To Ban Hunting Guns!
That is very concerning and warrants fighting back, but not the end of hunting.

Shell Capacity for Shotguns and Centerfire Rifles It is unlawful to hunt with a semi-automatic shotgun or semi-automatic rifle, other than a .22 caliber rimfire, that can hold more than six shells in the barrel and magazine combined. Fully automatic firearms are illegal. All shotguns used for migratory game birds (including woodcock) must be plugged so the total capacity of the shotgun does not exceed threeshells. |

These billshave to be vigorously opposed everywhere they show up! (There's one in the PA legislature too, very similar!) Funny thing. The bill I saw would NOT affect the ownership of a BAR, since its' magazine is not detachable...... However, here in PA, you never could HUNT with a semiauto RIFLE! Rifles haveto be "manually operated..." |

How many hunters are in Illinois?
Where were they when the state passed and Assault Weapons Ban? I guess the remington 7400s are the new 'terrorist weapon' in Illinois. They must be used for driveby shooting by gangbangers every day, lol. You will be grandfathered in as long as you register your weapon with the state. [:'(] |

RE: IL To Ban Hunting Guns!
These are already banned in IL for deer hunting. You may only deer hunt with a shotgun in this beautiful state. It's run by Cook county and Chicago. I swear they need to isolate that county from the rest of the state becasue the rest of our state is 100% different from those crooks from Cook County.

RE: IL To Ban Hunting Guns!
a request from the Illinois State Rifle Association, I called all the numbers none of them answered the phone and most of their mailboxes were full so they might be getting a lot of flack over this. by the way the bill is out of committee and headed to the floor.
1. Call Senate President Emil Jones’ office at (217) 782-2728 and tell the person that answers that you are a law-abiding gun owner and you do not appreciate Senator Jones treating you like a criminal. (Jones is the original sponsor of SB16). 2. Call your State Senator and POLITELY tell him or her that you oppose SB16 and you would like them to vote against SB16 when it reaches the senate floor. If you do not know who your senator is, then call (217) 782-2000 and ask the switchboard to connect you with your senator. Or go on the Internet to: www.ilga.gov and use the “Legislator Lookup” feature in the lower right hand corner to identify your senator and get their phone number. 3. Call State Senator Antonio Munoz, the sponsor of SB16’s most recent amendment, at: (217) 782-9415 and tell the person who answers that you are a law-abiding gun owner and that you do not appreciate Senator Munoz treating you like a criminal. Then call Munoz’s district office at (773) 869-9050 and tell the person there the same thing. 4. In a tactic as bad as the Soviet Union, Committee Chairman Susan Garrett denied gun owners the opportunity to testify against SB16 in senate hearings on the bill today. In effect, YOUR VOICE WAS SILENCED by Sen. Garrett. Of course, Daley’s Gun Grabbers were allowed to testify. So, it is important that you call Sen. Garrett’s office at (217) 782-3650, and remind the person who answers the phone that this is still the United States of America and that you are angry that Sen. Garrett denied your fellow citizens the right to be heard. Also, call Garrett’s district office at (847) 433-2002 and tell the person there the same thing. 5. Pass this alert along to all your gun owning friends. Tell them to make the same phone calls. 6. Post this alert to any and all Internet bulletin boards to which you belong. 7. If you are not a member of the ISRA, or you have gun owning friends who are not members of the ISRA, then go to www.isra.org and join today |
