RE: 44mag ammo!!
They do indeed make some stout ammo, although a few of their loads are "approved" only for a Redhawk/SuperRedhawk, Contender, etc....(the overall cartridge length is a bit long for Smith 29/629s.)

RE: 44mag ammo!!
Not only is the C.O.L. just a little long, although I've heard it still fits well enough to shoot, it's strongly recommended that people don't use their ammo in anything but those arms because it's just too stout, many arms aren't capable of withstanding the enormous pressures that this ammo entails, like you said, 330 grains carrying 1400 ft.lbs. at the muzzle is powerful. From what I've seen of them, most guys only use them for grizzly and buffalo hunting. In fact, isn't that what they are named, buffalo something or other? I've never shot any of theirs, however, I've had some handloads that come close to theirs, and you don't really want to shoot more than a round or two at a time, especially if you don't have padded gloves, plugs and muffs, and the gun tied to a fence post!!!!
Screw the 10 ring, keep them in the zero!!! |
RE: 44mag ammo!!
no mercy i believe you are searching for "buffalo bore" which is actually another company that sell a similar product. yes they are beast and so is there 45-70 ammo.

RE: 44mag ammo!!
I have Garrett ammunition for both .44 mag and .45-70 and it's stout. It's only safe to shoot in modern firearms.
