Perfect Deer Rifle

If you could pick the best deer rifle, scope, mounts, sling, etc. what you you "design" as the perfect deer rifle? Also, nay information on Sako and Tikka prices would be helpful.

C120...My perfect deer rifle. Hummmmmmmmmm...

I would have to go with a left-handed bolt gun...Smooth safety...Under 5 pounds(I can dream, can't I)...probably in a 25-06 or 270. Either would suit me just fine.

Or I'll stick with my Rem 760 Pump in 270. It hadn't failed me yet....Only I have! LOL

One that don't misfire and hits in the vitals and does enough damage you can recover the deer within reasonable effort. Reasonable effort being up to the individual's skills in tracking and spotting blood. Or perform a search, and there is 25 or so posts on the perfect gun theory.

The perfect deer gun, for my area chances of a second shot are slim Id have to go with a Remington 7 LS in 243, loaded with 100 gr Speer Grand Slam bullets,Leupold Rings, bases and a Vari X III 4.5-12x40 and for Saskatchewan Id get a Remington 7400 Synthetic in 30-06 with 2 clips and 165 speer grand slam bullets , Leupold vari x III 3-9x40 scope.

Model '98 rebarreled to a 22" 6.5 x 55, with a very trim wood American Walnut stock, Timney trigger with integral safety, simple sling w/ quiet swivels with an adapter for a bi-pod, topped with a 5-15 x 42 Zeiss.

I've shot deer with a 30-30 and had to track them. Did better with a .35 Remington, but still some traveled. Got a Rem 700 in 35 Whelen. When hit in the boiler room, they stay put, they can't run, it knocks them off their feet. I waited 20 years for Remington to legalize this caliber.

I'd go with an Encore chambered for .308 win. toped with a Simmons 2.8x10 Atec.
