Big Bore Revolver

Does anybody have information on Magnum Research BFR in either 45-70 or the 45 marlin calibers. This revolver looks huge but must be pretty well made in order to be chambered for those power house calibers. Please respond if you have any experience with them.

I've had some experience with the .45-70's, didn't really care for them, since my .44 mag can do almost the same as the old round, and the .454 cassul will do much more. I'd say save yourself some money, get a better revolver and a better round by looking into a linebaugh, something like a .475 or .500. KNock the socks off of the .45-70, and the custom linebaughs are a lot better made in my opinion.

Screw the 10 ring, keep them in the zero!!!

Actually the 44 Rem Mag won't come close to a properly loaded 45-70. Now factory loaded 45-70 leaves alot to be desired, but in a strong action you can load 45-70 up to almost match the weaker 458 Win Mag factory loads.

but frizzelr getting those ballistics out of a handgun is closing in on impossible. out of a rifle the 45-70 will take everything on the planet with relative ease. out of a handgun the difference wont be much between the .44 and 45-70. though a 45colt in a 5shot cylinder will beat either.

Yes, the 45-70 handgun ballistics won't match the 458 Win Mag, but they will outdo the 44 Mag.
