Berger 168gn for deer

I have read many posts in other forums about folks using the Berger VLDs for deer hunting. I have a 7mm-08 with a 28in barrel, and was wondering if this cartridge has enough to push the 168 VLD to decent velocities for hunting deer size game. I wonder if the high BC can make up for the slower velocity, and be effective on game out out to 200yds.

Any thoughts??

Good point cma3366a! The reason I said 200yds, is because I will use the config during the 07 deer season in PA. If this becomes a successful load, I plan to use it in Colorado in the future for Mule Deer and possible Elk.Out west, much longer shoot are not uncommon....

If you go out West you'll have to be able to shoot well at 350-400 yds.
You should be able to hit a paper plate at 400 yards by the time you're done practicing.
