RE: Barrel length Question

It's gonna depend on the gun you choose, how it mounts to your shoulderand how it swings when you have it mounted. A beretta will not mount and swing like a Browning which will not mount andswing like a Benelli, etc...

Try different models and barrel lengths and get what mounts and swings the most naturally.

I will say that a 30" barrel on a semi auto is a loooong barrel.

He means barrel length.

I have been shooting a Benelli Super 90 with a 21 inch barrel since 1995 and have had no trouble killing anything that flies or deer and hogs with buckshot, but I like a short barrel. My Dad had a 28 inch barrel on his Benelli but liked my shorter barrel better, so I got him a 24 inch barrel which he likes alot better.

Generally, trap guns have longer barrels, but since you are going to use the gun for upland hunting too, I would recommend a 26 inch barrel. I will admit that the longer sight plane is helpful on trap and skeet.

you can use a 28in.....but get a patternmaster choke for trap or birds...30 would also be very well as long as you once again use the right choke

RE: Barrel length Question

Lots of companies will make an upland special shotgun, and it'll be 22" barrel, which I think is too small, so IMO, a 24" or 26" would be good choices.
