how do you guys feel about wearing a CCW on your ankle?
 

I was watching some sausage sizzle this morning and thought that might help out the size question I had earlier...

I have never tried it but whatever works for you is the way to go.

My cousin carries that way. He carriesa smallSmith & Wesson revolver. The only aurgument that I've heard against it is you'd be in a vulnerable position should you need to draw your weapon.

only people i know that carry that way carry back up pistols like that. for a first response weapon it would be tough..bending over and pulling up your pant leg to draw..liable to get shot in the....well..you would be bent over:D lol...but hey..if thats the only place you could hide a gun its better then not having one at all

First off even if you have it in a shoulder holster or on your hip unless you can see the trouble coming you probably won't have time to pull it. I had a friend that was carjacked and had a pistol on the seat beside him but he never even had time to pick it up. The guy walked up and put a gun to his head and pulled him out. I keep onein my truck in case I need it but don't carry it on me. Last weekend I had to pull it out because some guy was chasing another guy with a hammer and he ran towards me in the truck. He stopped as soon as he seen the gun. Though I seen it happening and had time to get it out before there was any problem.

Unless you have very long arms and very short legs, I see no use for it...

I'm 6'5"...I keep mine on my hip.

Ankle carry is ok if your on your back and can move your leg to your hand,other then that I realy dont see it as being a very good way to carry.
And it takes alot of practice to get the hang of drawing it from the ankle..

Alright, guess that's not the best option for a primary.

Maybe a good knife or something but seems to be the bottom of the ladder on firearm choices.

The ankle holster would be best for a back up. I am 6'5" also and don't want to bend over to draw my weapon. I prefer a strong side or SOB holsters. Thats just my 2.
