.358 Winchester

Greetings:

I saw a wonderful Browning BLR in this caliber the other day and was wondering if anyone had any experience with the round & what their thoughts were. The gun would be my wood's rifle for deer, black bear, and perhaps elk if I ever did that. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Thanx.

I had one and liked it. They are excellent for moose and Elk even bears but like the 338 Federal they are a short to medium range rifle. I would keep shots to 300 yards or less.

The .358 win is one of my all time favorite cartridges. it is comparable to the 35 whelen,as is the .308 is to the 30-06,as it is a .308 case necked up. It will down anything in north america within 200-250 yards. It performs all out of proportion of it's size.

Buy it. You will never regret it and the .358 is not a paper wonder. It kills with way more authority than most comprehend.
