whats the word on the Howa 1500
 

i have read it is a lot like the Vanguard.
how do they shoot out of the box?
thinking of getting one at wally world soon for my collection.

It IS a Weatherby Vanguard! The Weatherby Vanguard action is a Howa product. They are excellent rifles andcan be found in the used market labeled as S&W 1500's as well.

To whom does one send a Howa when it need repair/service/warranty work? I can't seem to find a web site with any info. Their Japanese site shows guns, but doesn't give any more info. about 'em.

To me, it's worth another $100 in peace of mind knowing I could send the gun back to Weatherby if I had to.

They are made by Lagacy Arms out of Reno, Nevada.

They are made in Japan and imported by Legacy Sports International in Nevada. For service you would contact them. http://legacysports.com/support/index.htm

I'd purchase a Howa over a Savage any day of the week and twice on Sunday. ;)
