Ruger 10/22

Bought one this weekend at a gun show. Now it is time to start accessorizing. For sure hi-cap mags. Any recommendations? Any other accessories I should consider?

Flutted Bull barrel w/ match chamber. Quality hammer, trigger and a good recoil buffer.Bolt accurizing via eBay member glock.doc and a solid stock.

Mags for sure. You're thumb gets tore up loading that 10 round baby you get with it.
A mag loader is a good investment, I don't have one, but my Dad does and I use it at the range. Real time and skin saver.
The pull on mine (carbine) was also a little short, so I got an an2" thick recoil pad off ebay and it extended the length so it was a little more natural.
Also got an extended magazine release off ebay. A must have!
Cost me about $4 and was easy to install.
That's all I've done to mine.
Love that .22

Is one brand of mags better than another, or does it make much difference?

I just put one together myself. I just received my new 4X12 Monarch. Probably put it on tomorrow. I like the factory 10 round magazines. Two or three mags should be enough. Tom.

stay away from the 50rd mags... hardly any will feed very well. I use the butler creek 25 rd with pretty good success.

Check out www.rimfirecentral.com for any questions you might have... those guys know anything and everything 10/22.

I haven't had luck with the high cap mags. The 50's wouldn't feed at all and the 25's weren't much better. Ruger needs to make some high quality hi-caps.

I've got a couple of 30 round mags for mine that have worked just fine. No jams or failures to feed, yet. I think they're ProMags, but, I'll have to check when I get home later.
