marlin 336 vs winchester 94 vs henry big boy
 

what do you all think is a better gun for hunting marlin 336, winchester 94, or the henry big boy (doesnt matter what the calibers)

I like marlin better becasue marlins have solid top recievers,which makes it easier to mount optics. I also like overall design and quality with marlin better. They are simple to work on/slick up also. My advise is to look at the browning blr. You still have excellent carrying/shooting qualitys,but they are in class by themselves (not counting discontinued winchester and savage) because they are available in more powerful,modern,longer range cartridges,which in my humble opinion,makes them much more versatile all purpose rifles.

I started out hunting as a kid with a Winchester 94. However if I bought a new lever action today it would be the Marlin. I like the big bore cartridges the Marlin is available in and I feel it is one tough lever action. Here is a pic of my Winchester 94 I started hunting with.

I also chose the Marlin. This was my first rifle and I still have it. I chose the 35 Rem. when my dad purchased it for me and its still my favorite brush gun. Very well built and reliable. Mine is 44 years old and I have not had to adjust or replace anything, including theinexpensive Jap scope on Weaver knock down mounts.

If you want an ugly gun; get the Henry.

If you want a pretty gun; get the Winchester.

If you want a gun to hunt with, can take the hottest loads, is easy to take apart and clean,is a great company with awesome customer service, is versitile and will last your whole life; get the Marlin.

they are all good guns. Sorry guys i grew up with the 94 and still hunt with it I think its a great gun but the marlin does come in nice big bore cailbers. Pick the gun that fits you right and go with that one
