Marlin Big Bore vs. Browning BLR
Greetings:
I'm wondering which one of these lever action big bore rifles (.450 Marlin) is preferred by all of you more knowledgable timber hunters and why. I'm building my gun battery up this spring and I have little experience with either company's levers (I do have an old win. .32 special). Any feedback is greatly appreciated, Thanx. |
RE: Marlin Big Bore vs. Browning BLR
I have a few marlins. But the brownings lockup and setup is just like a bolt action. Alot stronger, and some say more accurate. But it comes with a heavy price tag too.
Also, I liked the old fashion feel of a regular lever. |

Take a look at the Marlin 1895MLXR in 450. Now that is a beautiful firearm
I Can't necessarily tell you why for the 450from experience but I do own a 30-30 Marlin and it is my favorite gun. Plus this one just looks great |

But despite a few disadvantages compared to the BLR, the Marlin is an excellent rifle in its' own right! |

I have a Marlin .450 and love it. With the new Hornady sheels it is a easy 200 yard gun.
