RE: what make should i go with
I really want a .243 also. When the time comes I'm pretty sure I am going to get the CZ 550 American. But you can't go wrong with the Ruger either.

RE: what make should i go with
Yeah the Tikka does look pretty cheap in the pics, I have yet to see one in real life to tell for sure though. Howa/Legacy Arms are basically just cheaper Weatherbys, they have the same action as the Vanguards. How much are you looking to spend??

Check out the Carbon Fiber Supreme model, it has a Christensen barrel on it. Pretty pricey though, about $1200. |
RE: what make should i go with
yeah i looked at a tikka today i diddent really like the stock the action and barrel were real nice but the stock was a turn off i have herd good about those Christensen barrels i seen them on alot of elk hunting videos

RE: what make should i go with
I guarantee the Tikka will outshoot any $1200 gun out there thats on the free market.
I have a standard Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in 243 that will shoot .5 MOA all day long with whatever I feed it with a Leupold VXII 4-12-x40 on it. |
RE: what make should i go with
The Tikka Super Varmint was well over $1200 last time I checked and a whole lot heavier then the Howa/Christensen rifle. But yes, they do make nice rifles.
